18th Dynasty, reigned 1334 – 1325 B.C.
King Tut became king at 9 years age and died when he was only 19 years old and was probably the most famous King in all history; his story and cause of death have been a matter of dispute and controversy till this day. King Tut’s amazing intact tomb (KV 62) was discovered in 1922 by Lord Carnarvon and Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings, with wonderful artifacts including the well known gold burial mask, which can be seen today at Cairo Museum in Egypt. His mummy has undergone endless advanced medical tests to identify the cause of his early death, which evidence suggests was some sort of blunt trauma. Many of those who were involved in opening up the King’s tomb had died under mysterious circumstances, leading to speculations about what is known as the curse of the Pharaohs!
